American International Group, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: AIG) announced the appointment of Peter Zaffino as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Operating Officer. Zaffino joins AIG after serving as Chief Executive Officer of Marsh LLC. Prior to Marsh, he was President and CEO of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC. Prior to Guy Carpenter, he held several senior positions, including serving in an executive role with a GE Capital portfolio company.
Imagination TV, Inc. [CASPER, Wyo.] (OTC PINK: IMTV) announced that it has appointed Juan C. Areco as its Chief Operating Officer. Juan has worked with acclaimed artists such as JT Money, Anthony Hamilton, Billy Blue and Tony Galvin. He also has managed operations in the renowned music studios, Circle House Studios and Studio Center.
National Vision, Inc. [DULUTH, Ga.] announced the retirement of Bruce Steffey, President and Chief Operating Officer, effective September 1, 2017. Upon Bruce’s retirement, Jeff McAllister, a Senior Vice President at Walmart and 19-year Walmart veteran, will succeed Steffey as Chief Operating Officer. McAllister has served in a variety of supply chain and operations capacities including Vice President of Walmart’s Global Supply Chain, Chief Operating Officer for Walmart Japan, and Senior Vice President for Optical. Prior to joining Walmart, Jeff managed logistics for Saks Fifth Avenue and May Department Stores.
Accedian [MONTREAL] announced the appointment of Dion Joannou as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dion joins Accedian from Viavi Solutions where he spent two years as Senior Vice President of Sales for its Network Service Enablement unit. His industry experience also includes 14 years at Nortel Networks, where he held several high-level leadership positions in its IP and Wireless businesses. Dion also served as Nortel’s Chief Strategy Officer, and was President of its North American operations.

Select Bancorp Inc. [DUNN, N.C.] (NASDAQ: SLCT) has named Executive Vice President Lynn H. Johnson chief operating officer. Johnson most recently served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer since 2014. She has also served as senior vice president and corporate ethics officer for Select Bank & Trust and legacy New Century Bank.

Shaw University [RALEIGH, N.C.] announced that President Tashni-Ann Dubroy is resigning to assume the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Howard University. Dubroy began her career as a Research Scientist at BASF. Previously, she held the position of global technology analyst, and later was appointed to serve as chemical procurement manager. She previously co-founded Tea and Honey Blends and co-owned downtown Raleigh’s Element Beauty Bar.
