AECOM [LOS ANGELES] announced that Mark Whitney has been appointed chief operating officer of AECOM’s nuclear & environment strategic business unit. Following an 11-year career with the Department of Energy, Mr. Whitney joins AECOM having most recently served as the principle deputy assistant secretary for the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management. He was a member of the U.S. Senior Executive Service for more than 11 years, having served in both the Environmental Management office and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Mr. Whitney has previously held several key positions, including acting Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management, the Manager of Environmental Management’s Oak Ridge Office, Assistant Deputy Administrator for Nonproliferation and International Security, and acting Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation.
Piper Jaffray Companies [MINNEAPOLIS] (NYSE: PJC) announced the appointment of Stuart C. Harvey, Jr. as president and chief operating officer of the company. Harvey rejoined Piper Jaffray in August 2015 as a partner in its merchant banking group, having previously served as a managing director at Piper Jaffray in its investment banking group from 1993 to 2003. From 2003 to 2010, Harvey was with Elavon Global Acquiring Solutions, Inc., becoming president in 2005 and CEO in 2008. In 2010, Harvey became the chairman, CEO, and president of Ceridian Corporation. In October 2013, he became the chairman and CEO of Comdata, Inc., while continuing to serve as executive chairman of Ceridian.
East West Bancorp, Inc. [PASADENA, Calif.] (NASDAQ: EWBC) announced the appointment of Gregory L. Guyett as President and Chief Operating Officer of East West Bancorp and East West Bank. Mr. Guyett most recently was Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Johnson Controls. Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Mr. Guyett served 30 years at J.P. Morgan, in leadership roles of progressively increasing responsibilities. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Guyett was Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. Prior to this role, he relocated to Shanghai in 2013 as Chief Executive Officer for Greater China. Mr. Guyett also served in other international executive leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan’s Global Corporate Bank; and Senior Country Officer for Japan while concurrently serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Securities Japan Co., Ltd.
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. [MELVILLE, N.Y.] (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced that Michael Galletti has been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Galletti joins Comtech with 32 years of experience in the aerospace & defense industry where he ran international and domestic business units in tactical and strategic communication systems, electronic warfare and radar development and production programs for Northrop Grumman and Harris Corporation.
Hexion Inc. [COLUMBUS, Ohio] announced that Joseph P. (“Jody”) Bevilaqua has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Company. Mr. Bevilaqua most recently served as Executive Vice President and President of the Epoxy, Phenolic and Coating Resins Division of the Company. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and President of the Phenolic and Forest Products Division, a position he held from January 2004 to August 2008. Mr. Bevilaqua joined the Company in April 2002 as Vice President-Corporate Strategy and Development. Prior to joining the Company, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Alcan’s global plastics packaging business from February 2000 to March 2002. Prior to Alcan, Mr. Bevilaqua served in leadership positions with companies such as General Electric, Woodbridge Foam Corporation and Russell-Stanley Corporation.
LiCo Energy Metals Inc. [VANCOUVER, British Columbia] (TSV-V: LiC) (OTCQB: WCTXF) announced the appointment of Tim Fernback as Chief Operating Officer. Tim has held multiple senior executive positions, including oversight of the Investment Banking and Corporate Finance Divisions at Wolverton Securities. He was also responsible for the consulting practice at Discovery Capital Corporation. Tim Fernback currently serves as a Director for several Canadian mining companies.
Presidian Hotels & Resorts [SAN ANTONIO] announced that Chip Young has rejoined the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Young is a hospitality industry veteran with a career spanning over 35 years, including time previously spent with Presidian serving as the company’s VP of Operations. Chip began his career with Marriott where he spent a total of 17 years in various roles. He also served as a Regional VP of Operations for White Lodging and held similar roles with La Quinta Inns and Suites and Prime Hospitality. Immediately prior to rejoining Presidian, Mr. Young served as the Chief Operating Officer for BC Lynd Hospitality in San Antonio.
Parallel Advisors [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that it has appointed Relura Horton, a widely-respected industry veteran, as the firm’s new President and Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Ms. Horton served as Regional Managing Director of the West Coast for Fidelity Custody and Clearing Services. Prior to this, Ms. Horton served in various other leadership positions at Fidelity, where she spent a total of 12 years.
Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC [IRVINE, CA] announced the addition of Robert “Bob” Venable to its leadership team as Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Director. Venable most recently served as COO, CFO, and CCO of SW Asset Management LLC. Prior to that Venable served as Chief Investment Officer at First American Capital Management and as a Portfolio Manager at PIMCO.
Amblin Partners [UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif.] announced that Chris Floyd has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Previously, he served as General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs, having joined the company (then DreamWorks Studios) in 2007. Prior to DreamWorks Studios, Floyd was Senior Vice President of Business Affairs at Universal Pictures. Before joining Universal, Floyd was Senior Vice President of Business Affairs for Paramount Pictures. Floyd began his law career as an Associate Entertainment Litigator at Hill Wynne Troop & Meisinger. In 1993 he joined the Feature Legal Affairs Department of Walt Disney Motion Pictures before moving into Business Affairs in 1995.
RealD [BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.] announced that Travis Reid has joined as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Reid served as President of Distribution for Broad Green Pictures and he previously has held executive positions at prominent exhibitors, cinema and technology companies including CEO of Screenvision, CEO of Digital Cinema Implementation Partners (DCIP) and CEO of Loews Cineplex Entertainment.
AvMed [MIAMI] has named James M. Repp president and chief operating officer. Repp came to AvMed in 2004 and has since served in sales and marketing leadership roles of escalating responsibility, culminating as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
HelloWorld [SOUTHFIELD, MI] announced the addition of a Chief Operating Officer role to its executive leadership. Chris Locke, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, takes on this newly created position while retaining his current duties.
Waypoint Residential [STAMFORD, Conn.] announced the appointment of Peter DiCorpo as COO. Most recently, Mr. DiCorpo was the President of the U.S. Core Investment Platform for CBRE Global Investors. Prior to that, he was the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and oversaw their operations in the UK and Europe. He began his real estate career at AIG Global Real Estate, where he served in a number of roles including Chief Administration Officer.
RestorixHealth [WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK] announced that Christopher A. Mitchell has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mitchell is a seasoned healthcare executive and operational leader. Prior to his appointment, he led the development and integration of transitional care programs. Former roles include area vice president at Gentiva Health Services, chief operating officer of Life Care Centers of America and vice president of hospice operations at Kindred Healthcare. Mitchell retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, a military parachutist and Army Ranger.
Berry Plastics Group, Inc. [EVANSVILLE, Ind.] (NYSE: BERY) announced that Thomas E. (Tom) Salmon has been elected as Berry’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Salmon currently serves as President of the Company’s Consumer Packaging Division. Salmon joined the Company in 2007 with Berry’s acquisition of Covalence Specialty Materials where he had led the Adhesives Division for four years. From 2007-14, he served as President of Berry’s Engineered Materials Division, prior to being appointed President of Berry’s Rigid Closed Top Division in 2014 and President of Berry’s Consumer Packaging Division in 2015. Before joining Covalence, Salmon was General Manager of Honeywell Plastics and Global Sales Director for Allied Signal’s Engineering Plastics and Films. He began his career with General Electric and held a variety of commercial positions during his 12 years in GE’s Plastics and Lighting divisions.
