DDR Corp. [BEACHWOOD, Ohio] (NYSE: DDR) announced Michael Makinen will serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Makinen served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Equity One from July 2014 to March 2017. Prior to joining Equity One, Makinen served as Chief Operating Officer of Olshan Properties. Makinen also previously served as the head of real estate and development with several major retailers.
United States Steel Corporation [PITTSBURGH] (NYSE: X) announced that David B. Burritt, who currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer, has been elected president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining U. S. Steel in September 2013 as executive vice president and chief financial officer, David B. Burritt served as chief financial officer at Caterpillar Inc. and retired in 2010.
Snagajob [Arlington, Virginia] has promoted Jocelyn Mangan to Chief Operating Officer. She has nearly two decades of experience building iconic global mobile apps and market-leading software products as the former head of product for OpenTable and TicketMaster.
Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re US) [ORLANDO, Fla.] announced Lisa Smith has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Lisa joined the company in 2009 as senior vice president of operations when Hannover Re US acquired the ING reinsurance portfolio from Scottish Re.
Kimco Realty Corp. [NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.] (NYSE: KIM) announced the promotion of David Jamieson to Chief Operating Officer. He joined Kimco in 2007, and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Asset Management and Operations.
Alliance for Strong Families and Communities [MILWAUKEE, WIS.] announced Ron Clewer will join as chief operating officer on April 10, 2017. Clewer is currently CEO of the Rockford Housing Authority and Bridge Rockford Alliance in Rockford. Clewer replaces John Schmidt, who decided in late 2016 he would leave the Alliance after 10 years of service. In addition to his work with Bridge Rockford Alliance, Clewer served as an advisor to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Mapbox [SAN FRANCISCO] announced Roy Ng has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ng joins Mapbox from Twilio, where he was COO and led commercial operations for the company. Prior to Twilio, Ng was Senior Vice President and COO for SAP’s Cloud Business Unit. Ng joined SAP through its acquisition of SuccessFactors where he was Vice President of Global Business Operations. Prior to SuccessFactors, Ng was Vice President and Head of West Coast Software Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. He serves on the Boards of several technology companies.
CVS Health Corporation [WOONSOCKET, R.I.] (NYSE: CVS) announced that Jonathan C. Roberts has been appointed to the new position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Roberts currently serves as president of CVS Caremark. Jon Roberts has been with CVS Health for 26 years and has held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility and impact. Prior to his appointment as president of CVS Caremark in 2012, he served as chief operating officer of the PBM business. Roberts also served as EVP of pharmacy purchasing, pricing and network relations from 2009 to 2010 and senior vice president and chief information officer from 2006 until 2008. Prior to that, he held a variety of key leadership roles in the company’s retail business, CVS Pharmacy, including senior vice president of store operations from 2002 until 2005.
BackBay Communications [BOSTON] announced that Jen Dowd has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Since joining the firm in 2007, Dowd has developed and led strategic branding, marketing and public relations programs for global asset management, private equity and financial technology clients. Dowd joined BackBay from Compton Consulting. Prior to that, she served as an Editorial Assistant for Euromoney magazine in London.
Skyline Corporation [ELKHART, Ind.] (NYSE: SKY) announced that Jeff Newport has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Newport previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations since joining Skyline in February 2016.
CoventBridge Group, Ltd. [JACKSONVILLE, Fla.] announced the addition of Chief Operating Officer (COO) Doug Merriman to the company’s management team. Merriman rejoins CoventBridge from Texas-based health information services provider EMSI, where he was the Executive Vice President of Operations for Health Plan Services
Athenex, Inc. [BUFFALO, N.Y.] announced the promotion of Jeffrey M. Yordon to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the company effective upon Board approval. Previously Yordon was the President of the Athenex Pharmaceutical Division, which was focused on commercializing all of Athenex’s products and intellectual property. Previous to joining Athenex, he was the Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sagent Pharmaceuticals which was recently sold to Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical Company. Yordon was one of the founders of American Pharmaceutical Partners and served as President and COO of the company which was eventually purchased by Fresenius Kobi. Yordon also previously held senior management positions at YorPharm, LyphoMed, Faulding Pharmaceuticals and Gensia Laboratories.
Contessa Health [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced the addition of Aaron Stein as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Aaron served as the Chief Strategy Officer of Aspire Health. Prior to Aspire, Aaron was President for Evolent Health’s Mid-Atlantic Region. In addition, he held national and regional leadership roles with UnitedHealth Group.
Medical Metrics, Inc. (MMI) [HOUSTON] announced the addition of Jeffrey “Jesse” Bowden to its executive management team as Chief Operating Officer. Bowden joins the team at MMI with extensive industry knowledge, having served the past two years as COO of Radiant Sage Ventures. Prior to Radiant Sage Ventures, he served as Vice President and then President of Imaging Services at Biomedical Systems Corporation.
Astea International Inc. [HORSHAM, Pa.] announced that David F. Giannetto has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, a new position within Astea. For the past 18 months, David Giannetto ran Astea’s U.S. and EMEA Customer Services Departments. Prior to joining Astea, David spent over 15 years with several top technology companies implementing enterprise-changing Business Intelligence initiatives among the Fortune 2000. He also brings over ten years of operational management experience.
Social Solutions Global [AUSTIN] has announced that Nikhil Kumar, the former SVP of Partner Services at Civitas Learning, has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his time at Civitas, Kumar was the Head of Client Services, Americas, for the Google Analytics Suite. He has also held various executive leadership roles at Blackbaud, Bazaarvoice, and National Instruments.
The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) [WASHINGTON] announced Mark T. Kim, Chief Financial Officer of the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water), will join the MSRB as Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. Kim recently served as a member of the MSRB’s Board of Directors, where he was a member of the Finance and Steering Committees and chaired the Audit Committee. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer at DC Water. Prior to DC Water, Kim held various positions in the public and private sectors including with the City of New York, Fidelity Capital Markets, Goldman Sachs & Co. and UBS Investment Bank.
