Pfizer Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: PFE) announced that Albert Bourla has been named Chief Operating Officer effective January 1, 2018. Albert Bourla has been the Group President of Pfizer’s Innovative Health Business since the beginning of 2016. Prior to his current position Bourla was the Group President for Pfizer’s Vaccines, Oncology and Consumer Healthcare businesses. Over the course of his career Bourla has held a number of senior global positions across a range of businesses and geographies Bourla was General Manager of the company’s Established Products Business Unit, prior to leading the Established Products business, Bourla was the Area President for Pfizer’s Animal Health business across Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific where he managed the integration of Wyeth’s Animal Health Business (Fort Dodge) with Pfizer in these global markets.

New Jersey Resources (NJR) [WALL, N.J.] (NYSE: NJR) has named Stephen Westhoven executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO). Throughout his nearly three decades at NJR, Westhoven has held key leadership positions and assumed progressive responsibilities culminating in today’s appointment to COO. He began his career in 1990 as an engineer at NJNG. After serving as vice president at NJRES, he was named senior vice president and COO of NJR’s unregulated businesses, NJRES, NJRCEV and NJRHS.

Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. [MINNEAPOLIS] (NASDAQ: DAVE) has appointed its former Chief Development and Franchising Officer, Geovannie Concepcion, as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer.

Piston Group [REDFORD, Mich.] has promoted Amit Singhi to the position of chief operating and financial officer with responsibility for operating and financial matters at all of the Piston Group’s four companies. Before joining the Piston Group as chief financial officer in August 2017, Singhi had held a variety of management positions at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.  Most recently he was CFO at FLIR Systems.

ChikPea [SAN FRANCISCO] welcomed Stephen Deason as our new Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Deason has worked with industry leaders including Oracle, Xerox, Verizon, Sage, and Accenture.

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. [CLEVELAND] (NYSE: CLF) announced that P. Kelly Tompkins, executive vice president & chief operating officer, will retire effective Dec. 31, 2017.

Kala Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [WALTHAM, Mass] (NASDAQ: KALA) announced the appointment of Todd Bazemore as Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Todd is a biopharmaceutical executive with 23 years of experience spanning from ultra-rare orphan diseases to large primary care conditions. Prior to joining Kala Pharmaceuticals, Todd served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Santhera Pharmaceuticals (USA), Inc. since September 2016. Prior to joining Santhera U.S., Todd served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Dyax Corp. Prior to joining Dyax, Todd was at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he served in several roles of increasing responsibility including Vice President, Managed Markets, Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Respiratory Business Unit. He began his career in sales at MURO Pharmaceuticals.

Adams Street Partners [CHICAGO] announced today that James Walker is joining the firm as a Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Walker has more than 30 years of senior executive leadership experience in the wealth management and asset management industries. Before joining Adams Street, he was COO at Credit Suisse Private Bank Americas. Prior to that, Walker spent seven years at Morgan Stanley Global Wealth Management (and predecessor firms), where he served on the management committee and held several roles of increasing responsibility including COO of Investment Strategy and Client Solutions, Director of the Consulting Group, and Director of Product Strategy. Earlier, Walker served as COO – Investment Advisory Services at Citi Global Wealth Management, and then as Director of Strategy, Finance and Risk. He began his career at Merrill Lynch and spent nearly two decades at the firm, rising to Chief Administrative Officer for the Global Private Client business. Walker has served on multiple boards over the years and is a regular lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Business

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Inc. (CSS Entertainment) [COS COB, Conn.] (NASDAQ: CSSE) announced that Elana Sofko has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer. Sofko joined CSS Entertainment in 2016 as senior vice president of business development and distribution. Prior to joining the company, Sofko focused on a range of digital business growth initiatives for World Wrestling Entertainment, including international expansion and localization of WWE’s digital properties. Sofko also supported the launch and international expansion of the WWE Network, a subscription-based video over-the-top (OTT) service. Sofko worked on the launch of satellite radio as part of the start-up team at a predecessor of SiriusXM. She has also overseen strategic growth initiatives at ESPN and A&E Television Networks.

Intercontinental Exchange [ATLANTA & NEW YORK] (NYSE: ICE) announced the promotion of Mark Wassersug, previously ICE’s SVP of Operations, has been named Chief Operating Officer. Wassersug joined ICE in 2001 and was promoted to SVP in 2013. Mark will replace Charles A. Vice who has been named Vice Chairman who was previously President and Chief Operating Officer.

SCI LLC [QUEENSBURY, N.Y.] announced the appointment of Peter Fidopiastis as President and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his new role, Peter will also continue as SCI’s General Counsel. Peter was a litigator in an employment defense firm in California dealing largely with management-side issues. He later extended his practice to NY before joining SCI where he has been General Counsel for 7 years.

AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company [NEW YORK] announced Jeffrey J. Hurd has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective April 2, 2018. Hurd will join both the AXA Equitable and AXA Equitable Holdings Executive Committees. Hurd joins AXA Equitable from American International Group, Inc. (AIG), where he most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Hurd joined AIG in 1998, and served in various leadership positions throughout his nearly 20 years at the company, including AIG deputy general counsel, senior vice president and AIG chief administrative officer, head of asset management restructuring and executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Hurd also served as a member of various enterprise governance committees and subsidiary boards, including the post-IPO board of AIA Group Ltd., a top insurance company in Southeast Asia. Hurd began his career as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in 1993, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, strategic investments and joint ventures. In this role, he spent one year in Tokyo with leading Japanese law firm Mori Sogo.

BeavEx Incorporated [ATLANTA] announced the appointment of Scott McDade as Chief Operating Officer. McDade joined Beavex in 2013 as its SVP Operations for the Central Division. In 2015, he was promoted to SVP Logistics and Operational Excellence. Prior to joining Beavex, he was the Division President for Velocity Express.

Maria Bothwell

Toffler Associates [RESTON, VIRGINIA] has hired Maria Bothwell as chief operating officer. Prior to joining Toffler Associates, Bothwell led strategic development, transformation and performance improvement initiatives in more than a decade with management consulting firm North Highland. Most recently, she was a managing director. Her prior experience includes management consulting with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Ernst & Young.

Celgene Corporation [SUMMIT, N.J.] (NASDAQ: CELG) announced that President and Chief Operating Officer Jacqualyn (“Jackie”) Fouse, has decided to retire from Celgene effective June 30, 2017. She will continue to serve as President and COO until April 1, and through June 30, she will serve as a strategic advisor to the management team. The Company also announced the promotion of Scott Smith to President and COO, effective April 1, 2017. Scott joined Celgene in 2008 and successfully built and launched Celgene’s I&I Franchise. Before joining Celgene, Scott served as Global Commercial Head for Biovail.

MFour Mobile Research [IRVINE, Calif.] announced Darren Clark as its Chief Operating Officer. As Chief Technology Officer for YP Marketing Solutions. He also has held high management positions with Spot Runner, NextGen Healthcare, AT&T Interactive, Yahoo!, Overture Services, and PayMyBills.com.

California Medical Evaluators (CME) [LOS ANGELES] announced that Jerry Hall was appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Hall previously held the COO position at Medical Consultants Network. Most recently, Hall has been Principal of his own firm, Brightspeed LLC.

Paul Flynn

BDC Capital Corporation [WAKEFIELD, Mass.] announced the appointment of Paul Flynn, Jr. as its Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Flynn also serves as President, and Chief Operating Officer of the New England Certified Development Corp., BDC’s SBA 504 lending affiliate. Prior to joining BDC Capital, Flynn served as a Senior Vice President at Berkshire Bank. His banking career also includes senior level positions at T.D. Bank, formerly Banknorth, and Bank Boston, formerly BayBank.

Ron Tarter

Phononic [DURHAM, N.C.] announced the appointment of Ron Tarter as Chief Operating Officer. Tarter joins Phononic after successful engagements at Apple, where he worked in various manufacturing leadership capacities; and Flextronics. Tarter was most recently SVP/GM of Flextronics’ United States Operations.

Las Olas Capital Advisors [FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.] hired Raymond N. Catone as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. Raymond joins the team with over 24 years of experience within the Financial Services Industry having worked at Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, and Barclays prior to his time at Citibank.

ROK Stars PLC [LOS ANGELES] announced the appointment Graham Higgins as Chief Operating Officer for its ROK Drinks division. A highly respected figure in the UK drinks and Business Process Outsourcing market, Graham has over 20 years experience in the design, sale, delivery and operations of credit management, customer service and telesales solutions with the likes of Molson Coors, Carlsberg, Anheuser-Busch, SAB Miller, Marstons PLC and Best Western Hotels.

Nook Industries [CLEVELAND] announced Jim Rowell as its new chief operations officer. Prior to joining Nook, he held roles in Parker Hannifin’s Fluid Connectors and Automation groups as territory manager, product manager, business unit manager, manufacturing manager, general manager and vice president of operations.

Goldcorp Inc. [VANCOUVER] (TSX: G, NYSE: GG) announced that George Burns, Executive Vice-President (“EVP”) and Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) will be leaving Goldcorp to assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at Eldorado Gold. Todd White, currently Senior Vice President, Technical Services and Business Excellence, will succeed Mr. Burns as EVP and COO effective January 1, 2017. Prior to joining Goldcorp in 2014, White was the Senior Vice President, South America at Newmont Mining Corporation.

Debbie Millin

Globalization Partners [BOSTON] announced that Debbie Millin will serve as the organization’s chief operating officer. Millin joined Globalization Partners in June as senior director of systems and scalability. Prior to joining the company in June, she ran UpperLevel Solutions, a consulting firm. Previously, she was vice president of operations at High Street Partners (now Radius).

Brian Goff

Neurovance, Inc. [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] announced the appointment of Brian Goff to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer and to the Neurovance Board of Directors. Mr. Goff previously was President of the Hematology Division of Baxalta (a 2015 spin-out of Baxter Healthcare). Prior to joining Baxter in 2012, Mr. Goff was Vice President and Head of Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ Primary Care business. Previously at Novartis’ Swiss headquarters, he led the global marketing of their flagship cardiovascular brand, and he spent 14 years in a variety of commercial leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson.

MrktServ Holdings [ROLLING MEADOWS, ILLINOIS] announced that Richard Sawyer has been appointed chief operating officer. Sawyer spent over 38 years at a Fortune 500 company and in 2003 he became the divisional merchandise manager of its hardware division, where he was then promoted to vice president-general merchandise manager of its automotive division. Sawyer grew in this position for about six years before retiring and then branched out to become the CEO of an automotive tools and supply company for three years.

Nicole Craine

SurveyGizmo [BOULDER, COLORADO] named Nicole Craine as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer. Nicole previously worked with @Home Network, There.com, Organic and Cadreon,

JANE.com [LEHI, Utah] announced that Shelley-Ann Denoon will be joining the executive team as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining JANE.com, Denoon served as eBay’s Director of North America Business Operations. She also served as the eBay’s Head of Operations within their deals platform. Other leadership roles she has held include Director of Business Excellence at eBay and Director of Technology Operations at General Electric Healthcare.

Synlogic [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] announced the appointment of Samantha Truex as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Corporate Development. Sam comes to Synlogic most recently from Padlock Therapeutics. Prior to Padlock, Sam spent several years each at Biogen and Genzyme. Earlier in her career, Sam worked for Chiron Diagnostics and Health Advances.

P. Kelly Tompkins

Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. [CLEVELAND] (NYSE: CLF) announced the appointment of P. Kelly Tompkins as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2017. Mr. Tompkins, is currently Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Tompkins joined Cliffs in May 2010, having previously been executive vice president and chief financial officer for RPM International Inc.. Before joining RPM in 1996, he held various legal and management positions with Cleveland-based Reliance Electric Company and Exxon Corporation in Houston, Texas. Before serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cliffs, he served in executive vice president roles in business development, commercial, legal and government affairs.

Sonata Senior Living [ORLANDO, Fla.] announced that Shelley Esden has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Shelley has over 18 years of leadership experience in the senior housing industry, holding senior management and regional director roles with nationally recognized owners, developers and operators, including Summerville Senior Living, Legacy Senior Living and Marriott Senior Living.

DDR Corp. [BEACHWOOD, Ohio] (NYSE: DDR) announced that it has named William T. Ross as chief operating officer, effective January 3, 2017. Mr. Ross was with Forest City Realty Trust as executive vice president of asset management since 2006.  Prior to his time at Forest City, Mr. Ross was an executive at General Electric Company where he led M&A for one of GE’s major divisions.  He also spent six years as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, worked in venture capital, and ran a small sporting goods manufacturing company.

Stewart [HOUSTON] announced the appointment of Timothy Okrie as Chief Operating Officer. Okrie most recently served as a senior partner within the Advisory Services practice at Deloitte.

Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. [BALTIMORE] (NASDAQ: SBGI) announced the promotion of John Solomon to Chief Operating Officer of Circa from Chief Creative Officer. Solomon has been with Sinclair since December 2015 as the Chief Creative Officer for Circa.  Prior to that he was the Editor and VP for Content and Business Development for The Washington Times since 2013.  His other roles included Executive Editor for the Center for Public Integrity and Director of News for Newsweek and The Daily Beast. He is also President of the Packard Media Group LLC, since 2009.

W. P. Carey Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: WPC) announced that its Chief Operating Officer and Head of Asset Management, Thomas Zacharias, has informed the Company that he will retire from the Company effective March 31, 2017.  Mr. Zacharias will remain a consultant for the balance of 2017.

Pat Halter

Principal Financial Group® [DES MOINES, Iowa] announced Pat Halter, current CEO and senior executive director of Principal Real Estate Investors, will assume the role of chief operating officer for Principal Global Investors. Since joining Principal in 1984 as a commercial real estate representative, Halter has held several leadership positions within Principal Real Estate Investors before assuming the role of CEO of the boutique.

TIAA Global Asset Management [NEW YORK] named Vijay Advani as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 9, 2017. Advani joins from Franklin Templeton Investments, where he was Co-President.

Ball Corporation [BROOMFIELD, Colo.] (NYSE: BLL) announced that Erik Bouts is leaving the company at the end of the month and that Daniel W. Fisher has been named senior vice president, Ball Corporation, and COO, global beverage packaging. Fisher joined Ball in 2010 as vice president, finance, North American metal beverage operations. Since 2014, he has served as president, Beverage Packaging North and Central America.

The Palisades Group, LLC [LOS ANGELES] announced the promotion of Justin Bodiya to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Bodiya, prior to Palisades, was the Vice President of Asset Management at Arch Bay Capital, LLC. Prior to Arch Bay Capital, Mr. Bodiya held multiple positions in the Portfolio Reporting and Management Group at American Capital Strategies.

Kit Q. Boyd

Neovia Logistics [IRVING, Texas] announced that Kit Q. Boyd will join the company as Chief Operations Officer on January 16, 2017. Mr. Boyd recently served as Senior Vice President of Global Logistics with Ingram Micro. Before joining Ingram, Mr. Boyd was responsible for warehousing and transportation at Ecolab. Earlier in his career, Mr. Boyd worked for Hewlett-Packard and Compaq Computer.

Ironside [LEXINGTON, Mass.] announced the appointment of David Michelson, Chief Operating Officer. David spent 13 years as a Senior Partner and Director at Computer Sciences Corporation. David continued to build his reputation as a Director at Tata Consultancy Services and as a Partner at the Monitor Group. His final stop before arriving at Ironside was as a Principal at Deloitte’s Strategy & Operations Group.
