Aviva Systems Biology Corporation (ASB) [SAN DIEGO] has recruited Yi-Chun “James” Wang as its Chief Operating Officer. Wang is a 17-year veteran in the life science proteomics market and was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of GeneTex Incorporated.
Gastar Exploration Inc. [HOUSTON] (NYSE MKT: GST) announced that Stephen P. Roberts has joined Gastar as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Roberts joins Gastar from Jones Energy, Inc., where he served as a Senior Vice President over the Anadarko and Arkoma asset groups and as Senior Vice President of Drilling and Completions. Prior to joining Jones Energy, he held various positions of increasing responsibility with Marathon Oil Corporation and Samson Resources Corporation.
Exari [BOSTON] announced Laurie Davison, has been named Chief Operating Officer. Davison was most recently CEO of Adsensa, and has spent over 18 years working in the technology and insurance sectors. Before Adsensa, she spent 5 years as COO for Faraday Re and Faraday Syndicate 435. Prior to Faraday, she spent 12 years with Xchanging.
Procon Analytics [IRVINE, Calif.] announced that David Meyer has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Meyer served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Client Services at Spireon Inc.
BevMo! [CONCORD, Calif.] has named Matt Navarro as senior vice president of operations. Navarro joins BevMo! from Dick’s Sporting Goods, where he served as regional vice president since 2015. Prior to that, he spent more than 16 years at Staples, starting as a district manager in 1998, and rising to the position of regional vice president in 2009.
Main Street Hub [AUSTIN, Texas] appointed Jeff Mosler as its Chief Operating Officer. Mosler joins Main Street Hub from HomeAway, where he served as Chief Services. Prior to HomeAway, Jeff spent over a decade as an operations leader at Amazon and Microsoft in Seattle and Ireland. Over his career, Mosler has also held positions at Exxon, Arthur D. Little, and Dell.
Dollar Tree, Inc. [CHESAPEAKE, Va.] (NASDAQ: DLTR) announced that Michael A. Witynski has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of the Dollar Tree segment. A Dollar Tree veteran, Witynski has served as Chief Operating Officer since July 2015, and he previously served as Senior Vice President of Stores since joining Dollar Tree in 2010. Prior to joining Dollar Tree, he held executive leadership positions at Shaw’s Supermarkets and Supervalu, Inc..
LoanCare [VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA] announced that Adam Saab has assumed the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer. In his most previous role, Saab held the position of senior vice president at PNC Mortgage. Prior to joining PNC Mortgage, Saab spent 14 years at CitiFinancial Mortgage Company.
Science Applications International Corp. [MCLEAN, Va.] (NYSE: SAIC) announced the appointment of Nazzic S. Keene as chief operating officer (COO). The move expands Keene’s executive roles to include both COO and president of the Global Markets & Missions Sector. Before joining SAIC, she was the senior vice president and general manager for U.S. Enterprise Markets at CGI Group Inc..
Viramal [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of Alexandra Pearce as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Regulatory Affairs. She has held executive-level regulatory affairs positions at pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, Amgen and Glenmark. Most recently, Pearce served as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, she was Executive Director, Global Regulatory Affairs and Safety at Amgen. Prior to Amgen, Pearce was the Global Regulatory Leader and Director of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs at Pfizer.
Ladera Sports Center [LADERA RANCH] announced that Steve Harris has been promoted to chief operating officer. Prior to joining Ladera Sports Center as general manager, Harris spent seven years as the director of operations of boys and girls basketball for Ocean View High School. Prior to Ocean View High School, he coached the boys’ varsity basketball team of Villa Park High School, served as assistant coach for San Diego State University’s men’s basketball team, and was head student manager of the University of California, Los Angeles men’s basketball team.
ABM [NEW YORK] (NYSE: ABM) announced that Scott Giacobbe, Senior Vice President and President of ABM Technical Solutions, has been elected Executive Vice President and will succeed James P. McClure as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer effective November 1, 2017. McClure informed the Company of his decision to retire at the end of the current fiscal year after more than 30 years with the Company. Giacobbe most recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Linc Network.
The New York Times Company [NEW YORK] announced that Meredith Kopit Levien has been promoted to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. She joined the company in August 2013 as executive vice president of advertising and was named chief revenue officer in April 2015. She previously served as chief revenue officer at Forbes Media.
MSA Safety Incorporated [PITTSBURGH] (NYSE: MSA) announced the election of Nishan J. Vartanian to the newly-created position of President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Vartanian had served as Senior Vice President and President of MSA’s business in the Americas since May 2015. Over his 32-year career with the company he has served in a variety of capacities of increasing responsibility, including U.S. National Sales Manager; Director of North America Commercial Sales and Distribution; Director of Integration for General Monitors, Vice President and Global Business Leader for MSA’s Fixed Gas and Flame Detection business; Vice President of MSA North America; and, most recently, Senior Vice President and President, MSA Americas.
PTC Therapeutics, Inc. [SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J.] announced the appointments of Marcio Souza to Chief Operating Officer. Souza joined PTC in July 2014 as Vice President of Global Marketing and was subsequently Senior Vice President and Head of Global Product Strategy. Prior to joining PTC, Souza was the Executive Director of Marketing for NPS Pharmaceuticals. Previously, he has worked for Shire HGT.
