PHOENIX Rehabilitation and Health Services, Inc. [BLAIRSVILLE, Pa.] announced the promotion of David Angelo as Chief Operating Officer. Angelo possesses more than 20 years of experience in the physical therapy industry, commencing his PHOENIX career at the Facility Director rank in 1998. Prior to pursuing his career in physical therapy, Angelo served as an Officer in the US Army.
SAS [CARY, N.C.] announced the appointment of SAS Chief Technology Officer Oliver Schabenberger to the role of Chief Operating Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Schabenberger will retain his role as CTO. Schabenberger is part of the American Statistical Association and joined the R&D division of SAS in 2002. Schabenberger advanced to the role of Chief Technology Officer in 2016.
Harland Clarke Holdings (HCH) [SAN ANTONIO] announced that Dan Singleton has been appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer. Singleton joined Harland Clarke, a subsidiary of Harland Clarke Holdings, in 1988 after holding positions at two Fortune 1000 companies. He was named President and COO in 2008. He became Harland Clarke’s CEO in 2012.
Globetouch [OAKLAND, Calif.] announced the appointment of Alfredo de Cárdenas as Chief Operating Officer. Previously, de Cárdenas held numerous executive roles including: Chief Commercial Officer at Sabre Travel Network, COO at Syniverse technologies, and General Manager of Converged Multimedia Networks at Nortel Networks.
Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (UTI) [SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.] (NYSE: UTI) has appointed Jerome Grant as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to UTI, he was Senior Vice President, Chief Services Officer with McGraw-Hill Education, Inc. and served in multiple executive roles with Pearson Education, Inc.
New Street Research [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of David Epstein to the role of Global Chief Operating Officer. David joins New Street Research from Gerson Lehman Group, where he was Head of Business Intelligence and Lean Operations. He is a former consultant with McKinsey and Company.
Epsilon Asset Management LLC [NEW YORK] named Charles Soderstrom as COO and Partner of the firm. Starting in 2005, Soderstrom served as a Managing Director and Head of Operations for Impala Asset Management. Prior to Impala, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. In 2000, he co-founded and managed Buena Vista Partners. Prior to Buena Vista, Soderstrom was a Managing Director at JP Morgan Securities. From 1987-1991, Soderstrom worked for Salomon Brothers.
Inteliquent, Inc. [PLYMOUTH, Minn.] announced that the appointment of Chandy Ghosh as Chief Operating Officer & General Manager for its 9-1-1 business unit. Ghosh was previously EVP, Technology at Intrado. Before that, Ghosh held leadership positions at Centurylink and Johnson Controls.
Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] (NASDAQ: IRWD) announced the appointment of William Huyett as chief operating officer. Most recently, he has been a senior partner emeritus at McKinsey and served on McKinsey’s Shareholder’s Council, serving as chair of its Finance Committee. Prior to joining McKinsey, Huyett held a variety of line management positions with Allen-Bradley. He serves on the board of directors of Georgia Healthcare Group PLC.
Intrexon Corporation [GERMANTOWN, Md.] (NYSE: XON) announced that Thomas Bostick has been named Chief Operating Officer of Intrexon replacing Andrew Last. Bostick joined Intrexon in 2016. After 38 years of service to the U.S. Army, he retired as the 53rd U.S. Army Chief of Engineers and the Commanding General of the U.S. Before his command of USACE, Bostick served in a variety of command and staff assignments with the U.S. Army both in the U.S. and abroad including the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, Personnel, U.S. Army, Commanding General, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Assistant Division Commander, 1st Cavalry Division, Executive Officer to the Chief of Engineers, Executive Officer to the Army Chief of Staff, and Deputy Director of Operations for the National Military Command Center, J-3, the Joint Staff in the Pentagon. Additionally, he was a special assistant to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs during his time as a White House Fellow.
