American Marketing Association (AMA) [CHICAGO] announced the appointment of Jeremy Van Ek as its Chief Operations Officer. Van Ek joins AMA with more than 15 years of experience in the marketing industry, including working at Edelman, Arc Worldwide and most recently Trisect, where he was the Chief Financial Officer.
Concho Resources Inc. [MIDLAND, Texas] (NYSE: CXO) announced that Joe Wright, the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Wright has announced his intention to retire as an officer of the Company in January 2019. Will Giraud will continue to serve as Executive Vice President until January 2019, when he will succeed Joe Wright as Chief Operating Officer.
Social Media Link (SML) [NEW YORK] announced the addition of Joanna Sammartino Bailey as Chief Operating Officer. She was most recently Global CRO at GrowMobile (now MakeMeReach by Undertone). Prior to GrowMobile, she was EVP Head of Account Strategy for North America at Criteo, and before that she was Global VP and Head of Client Services, Strategy and Operations at Adaptly. Sammartino Bailey also served as EVP Managing Director, Moxie Interactive/Publicis and SVP, Managing Partner at Beyond Interactive/WPP.
New Penn Financial [PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA] announced that Kevin Harrigan has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Harrigan joined New Penn in 2013, serving most recently as Chief Risk and Administrative Officer. He has over 30 years of senior management experience in financial services and mortgage banking, including positions with CIT Group, Bank of America, and KeyCorp.
ERA Real Estate [MADISON, N.J.] has tapped Simon L. Chen as its new chief operating officer. Chen, most recently served as chief operating officer of Realty ONE Group, founded Century Pacific Group, led expansion efforts for consumer-facing brands Realtor.com and Move.com as senior director of corporate development and strategy.
Ebates [SAN FRANCISCO] announced Adrienne Down Coulson, current GM of Ebates Canada, will become the company’s COO. Coulson is an experienced digital marketer who has been responsible for the launch and growth of Ebates in Canada. Prior to joining Ebates in 2012, she served as the President and GM of Sequentia Environics.
Duetto [NEW YORK] announced today that it has promoted Nelson Veiga to Chief Operating Officer. Veiga most recently led the Customer Success and Deployment teams over the past year. Veiga joined Duetto in 2014 and served as Vice President of Sales for the Western Region of the United States, as Vice President of Sales for the Americas and most recently as Executive Vice President of Operations.
A.O. Smith Corporation [MILWAUKEE] (NYSE: AOS) announced that Kevin J. Wheeler has been named president and chief operating officer. Since 2013, Wheeler has served as senior vice president, president and general manager of North America, India, and Europe water heating. Wheeler joined A. O. Smith in 1994 as a regional sales manager for the former Water Products Company. In 1999, he was named managing director of A. O. Smith Water Products Company B.V. headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. Wheeler returned to the U.S. in 2004 to serve as vice president-international with responsibility for all European and Asian operations. In 2007, he was named senior vice president and general manager of the U.S. retail business for the Water Products Company. Wheeler was named senior vice president and general manager of the North America, India, and Europe water heating business in 2011 and became president of that business in 2013.
Markwins Beauty Brands [CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.] announced that Michael Shaw has joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to this appointment, Shaw served as CEO and Solution Delivery Lead at Aptis Consulting Group. With more than 25 years’ experience and an impressive portfolio of clients including Custom Building Products and Capgemini Ernst & Young, Shaw has served a variety of increasingly responsible positions, including Chief Information Officer, Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller, CFO and Managing Director of Operations and has leadership experience in several industries including telecom, manufacturing, energy, banking, public accounting, and consulting.
GPB Capital (“GPB”) [NEW YORK] announced Craig Goos has joined as Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Previously in his career, Goos was Managing Director of Alternative Investments at UBS Wealth Management. Most recently, Mr. Goos founded North Capital and served as President and Managing Director of the company for five years.
Nortech Systems Incorporated [MINNEAPOLIS] (NASDAQ: NSYS) has appointed Matthew Mahmood as chief operating officer (COO). He joins Nortech from Marabek LLC where he was managing director. From 2002 to 2015, Mahmood was COO at Thermotech Inc. / Pioneer Plastics Inc. Prior to that, Mahmood was founder and COO for Circata Corporation. Earlier, he worked as a senior management and business development advisor with American Express.
GoldOller Real Estate Investments [PHILADELPHIA] announced the appointment of Jake Hollinger as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Hollinger joined GoldOller in 2009 as Director of Acquisitions and ascended almost immediately to Principal and Executive Vice President/COO.
Kimbell Royalty Partners, LP [FORT WORTH, Texas] (NYSE: KRP) announced the promotion of Matthew S. Daly to Chief Operating Officer. Daly joined Kimbell in September 2016 as Senior Vice President – Corporate Development. Prior to joining Kimbell, Daly spent 11 years in investment management, most recently at Kleinheinz Capital Partners, Inc. and Hirzel Capital Management, LLC. He was also Chairman of Delta Biofuels, Inc. Prior to this, Daly was an investment banker at Wasserstein Perella & Co. and later Lazard Frères & Co., where he was a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. He began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP in Dallas.
Ventura Foods [BREA, Calif.] has promoted John D. Buckles to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Formerly the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the company, Buckles joined Ventura Foods in 2011. Prior to his promotion, he led all sales, marketing, R&D and culinary activities in the U.S., as well as the company’s international division. Before joining Ventura Foods, Buckles held management, sales and marketing leadership roles at PepsiCo, Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola.
Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc. [MINNEAPOLIS] announced the addition of Terry Pflager to Chief Operating Officer. Terry joins SullivanCotter from Willis Towers Watson, where he served as the Market Leader for Kansas and Missouri.
AutoNation, Inc. [FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.] (NYSE: AN) announced the resignation of William “Bill” Berman as President and Chief Operating Officer. Bill will continue to serve as an employee of the Company in an advisory capacity through June 30, 2017. Mike Jackson, AutoNation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will assume all operating responsibilities in the interim.
Regional Management Corp. [GREENVILLE, S.C.] (NYSE: RM) announced that it has appointed John D. Schachtel as its new Chief Operating Officer. Schachtel succeeds Jody L. Anderson, who has stepped down as President and COO. Prior to joining Regional Management, Schachtel was Chief Operating Officer of OneMain Financial from 2013 to 2016. Before that, he served as OneMain/CitiFinancial’s Executive Vice President, Northeast & Midwest Division, for over 10 years. Schachtel also held various other positions at OneMain/CitiFinancial during his 29 years with the company, including Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing.
AlphaFlow [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that AdaPia d’Errico has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. d’Errico’s career spans retail banking, investment management, intellectual property and brand development, and financial technology. Most recently she was Chief Marketing Officer at Patch of Land. Prior to Patch of Land, she provided brand and online growth strategy services to consumer and media companies in the US and the UK, and co-founded two businesses.
Formstack [INDIANAPOLIS] announced the addition of Dustin Sapp in a new chief operating officer (COO) position. Most recently, Sapp served as Chief Executive Officer of Octiv (formerly TinderBox). Sapp will continue to be involved with Octiv’s board of directors. Before Octiv, Sapp served as the president and co-founder of Vontoo, and co-founder of NoInk.
KLNB [BALTIMORE] announced Marc Menick will be the firm’s new president and COO. He succeeds Andrew J. Georgelakos who will retire June 30, 2017. Menick will join KLNB after 19 years with Peterson Companies, where he most recently served as vice president of retail leasing.
