Dennis Orzel

Cadence Aerospace [ANAHEIM, Calif.] announced the appointment of Dennis J. Orzel as Chief Operating Officer. Orzel served most recently as Chief Operating Officer of PAS Technologies. He spent more than 20 years at United Technologies, where he held leadership roles in Operations and Engineering at Pratt & Whitney. In addition, he also served Chromalloy Gas Turbine and Vought Aircraft (later The Triumph Group) in a series of executive leadership positions.

Tammy Richards

loanDepot [IRVINE, Calif.] announced Tammy Richards will join the executive team as Chief Operations Officer for enterprise mortgage operations. Richards has served in senior roles at Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and most recently Caliber Home Loans.

Steven Moss

GlassPoint Solar [FREMONT, Calif.] announced the appointment of Steven Moss as Chief Executive Officer. Moss most recently served as the CEO of General Electric’s (GE) global Renewable Steam Plants business. Before leading the renewables plant group, Moss served as the Vice President for Industrial Steam Turbines at Alstom Power. He also served as Managing Director of Alstom Aerospace and prior to that the Managing Director of Areva’s Research & Technology division. Moss started his career as a gas turbine engineer and held several engineering leadership positions before joining the corporate management ranks.

AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC) [RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.] announced that Lee Gauthier has joined AFC’s executive team as Vice President of Operations responsible for manufacturing across all AFC’s sites.  Gauthier will replace Joseph Campbell, who has announced his intention to retire after the completion of an orderly transition. Most recently, Gauthier was Vice President-Global Operations at W.R. Grace & Company. Prior to joining Grace, he held various senior operating positions at Ferro Corporation.

AgileThought [TAMPA, Fla.] announced that Clare DeBoef was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Jeff Alagood, co-owner and former COO, will move into the role of Chief Strategy Officer. DeBoef was previously Senior Vice President of Client Services.

FinMason [BOSTON] announced the appointment of industry veteran David Remstein as president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining FinMason, Remstein served as the global head of buy-side financial consulting at Riskcare Inc. Remstein has held a variety of roles over his 32-year career in financial services, including global head of client reporting at Citi Private Bank, global head of investment performance at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and global product head and chief operating officer of investment analytics & consulting at J.P. Morgan Corporate Investment Bank.

Equity Bancshares, Inc. [WICHITA, Kan.] (NASDAQ: EQBK), the Wichita-based parent company of Equity Bank, announced the hire of Craig Anderson, who is being named as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Anderson joins Equity after 31 years in various executive and leadership roles at UMB Bank in Kansas City, Missouri, where he most recently served as President of UMB’s Commercial Banking – Eastern Region.

Glytec [WALTHAM, Mass.] announced the appointment of Ed Furlong as Chief Operating Officer. Furlong’s experience in operations and financial management spans more than 30 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Kyruus. Furlong previously served in a similar capacity at Exa Corporation.

Stem, Inc. [MILLBRAE, Calif.] announced that Mark Triplett joins Stem this week in a new executive position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Triplett has held several COO and executive sales positions, most recently as COO of Green Charge Networks, and earlier as President of Software and COO at UISOL.

Jeff Frye

Vetta, LLC [NORMAN, OKLAHOMA] has named Jeff Frye as Chief Operating Officer. Throughout his 25-year career, Jeff has extensive senior executive leadership experience with some of the top apparel industry retailers, including Cone Mills, Gap Inc., Lucky Brand and Guess Inc. Most recently, he served as President and COO of Hoorsenbuhs.

Bicycle Therapeutics [CAMBRIDGE, England & BOSTON] announced the promotion of Michael Skynner, to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Skynner has served as Bicycle’s Vice President of Operations and Discovery since January 2016. Dr. Skynner joined Bicycle from Pfizer in 2016, where he led rare disease efforts in Europe and founded and ran the Pfizer Rare Disease Consortium (RDC). Previously, he established and headed a discovery performance unit at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) focused on developing anti- inflammatory kinase therapeutics using an externalized partnered model. Prior to GSK he co-founded a successful biotech start-up company, Cambridge Biotechnology Ltd., (CBT).

DrivingSales LLC [SANDY, Utah] announced that Cameron Darby has joined the company as its president and chief operating Officer. Most recently, Darby was the COO of DealerSocket. Before joining DealerSocket, Darby held senior executive positions with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers and Viking Components.

Digital Realty [SAN FRANCISCO] (NYSE: DLR) announced that Erich Sanchack has been named Executive Vice President, Operations. Erich most recently served as Senior Vice President, IT Solutions and New Market Development at CenturyLink. At CenturyLink, he also held the title of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Federal. Prior to CenturyLink, Sanchack served as an executive at Lockheed Martin for 12 years, where he held various Vice President roles. He was Vice President, Competitive Enhancements, Vice President, Corporate Internal Audit and also served as Vice President, Information Technology Services. Sanchack is a former Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Finance and Operations and completed multiple overseas deployments.

Genesco Inc. [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] (NYSE: GCO) announced that Mimi Eckel Vaughn, currently the Company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer, is to be named chief operating officer of the Company once her successor as chief financial officer is appointed. Vaughn, a 14-year veteran of the Company, joined Genesco as vice president – strategy and business development in 2003, was promoted to senior vice president – strategy and business development in 2006, and was named senior vice president – strategy and shared services in 2009. She assumed her current position in February 2015. Prior to joining the Company, Vaughn was executive vice president of business development and marketing and acting chief financial officer for Link2Gov Corporation in Nashville.  From 1993 to 1999, she was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Before joining McKinsey, Vaughn held corporate finance positions at Goldman Sachs & Co., Wasserstein Perella & Co., and Drexel Burnham Lambert.

All Def Media [LOS ANGELES] has recruited WPP ad sales veteran Brooke Goldstein as co-president and chief operating officer. Goldstein is a highly respected industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience who joins All Def from ESP Properties, North America, where she was head of sales for the WPP division. During the past four years at ESP, she advised numerous companies on their overall market approach, differentiation, creating brand partnerships and tactics for driving sales. Prior to working at WPP, she was senior vice president of sales at The Hub and she also spent 16 years working on the agency side, leading client service, strategy and planning.

UPM Pharmaceuticals [BRISTOL, Tenn] has appointed Chris Curtin as Chief Operating Officer. Curtin was promoted from his previous role as Executive Vice President of Quality Operations. Curtin has held executive management positions at Parke-Davis/Warner Lambert, King Pharmaceuticals, Graceway Pharmaceuticals, Rockward Pharmaceutical Consultants, Actient Pharmaceuticals and more recently Lynwood Pharmaceuticals. At King Pharmaceuticals, Curtin was Executive Vice President Quality Operations and at Graceway Pharmaceuticals he served as Executive Vice President Technical Operations.

Jim Benintende

AutoAlert [KANSAS CITY, Mo.] announced that its new COO is long-time Ford Motor Co. executive Jim Benintende. A Ford employee who started on the assembly line, he eventually became the first President of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) business unit. After leading the MEA Business Unit development, Benintende returned to the United States as Ford’s Director of Sales Support. He retired from Ford in December 2016. Benintende worked at Ford from the ground up starting at age 20, as an assembly line worker. From there, he held a series of marketing and sales positions domestically until he was promoted, in 1993, as Sales Manager of Export Operations of Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In 2002, Benintende became Managing Director of Ford Middle East and North Africa.

ProAssurance Corporation [BIRMINGHAM, Ala.]  (NYSE: PRA) announced that it has promoted Edward L. “Ned” Rand, Jr. to Chief Operating Officer. Rand has served for 13 years as the Chief Financial Officer for ProAssurance and he will continue in that role for the near future.

SHYFT Analytics [WALTHAM, Mass.] announced that Priya (Bhargava) Sapra has been named Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer. Priya is part of SHYFT’s executive team and oversees Product Innovation.Priya joined SHYFT in 2012 and has assumed a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Chief Product Officer. Prior to SHYFT, Priya served as the Head of Analytics for Phreesia, and Vice President of Quantitative Services for MedPanel.

Chris Botting

Selligent [REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and BRUSSELS, Belgium] announced that Chris Botting has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to joining Selligent, Botting was General Manager – Customer Care Technology Group at Cisco. Before joining Cisco in 2000, Botting was a VP and Founder at PakNetX. He also led marketing and product teams at Ericsson, and Multilink, and held product and engineering roles at Nortel early in his career.

SecurSolution Inc. [TORRANCE, Calif.] has selected Anne Sullivan as the company’s chief operating officer. Recently, the vice president of Asset Protection & Risk Management for CKE Restaurant Holdings Inc., the parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardees.

Logikcull.com [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that it has hired cloud software executive Patrick Barry as Chief Operating Officer. Barry is leaving his SaaS operational consulting practice to join the company. Previously, he was VP and GM of the Demandforce business at Intuit. Having joined Demandforce as a startup, Patrick was the company’s CMO. Before that, he was a VP and GM at Yahoo!, among other roles in tech startups and investing. He also practiced corporate and securities law at Venture Law Group.

Proskauer [NEW YORK] announced Art Gurwitz has decided to retire from his responsibilities so he can devote more time to his passions for philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Gurwitz will serve as a consultant during 2018 and lead certain special projects for the Firm. Jonathan O’Brien, who currently serves as the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer and was formerly the Global Finance Director at the Boston Consulting Group, will become Proskauer’s new Chief Operating Officer.

Pirooz Parvarandeh

Aquantia Corp. [SAN JOSE, Calif.] (NYSE: AQ) announced the appointment of Pirooz Parvarandeh as Chief Operating Officer. With over 33 years of experience, Parvarandeh was formerly the Group President and the first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Maxim Integrated where he spent 27 years.

Premium Retail Services (Premium) [ST. LOUIS] has announced the promotion of Bill Campbell from President of Sales and Marketing to Chief Operating. Prior to joining Premium in 2014, Bill was President of U.S. Sales at LeapFrog. Bill has also held leadership roles with LEGO.

HD Vest Financial Services[IRVING, Texas] announced that Crystal Clifford, who has more than 25 years of experience working in the financial services industry, has joined the firm as Chief Operating Officer. Clifford was most recently Senior Vice President of Technology at LPL Financial. Clifford became Senior Vice President of Technology following two years at the helm of LPL Financial’s Product Management organization. Prior to that position, Clifford led multiple departments in LPL Financial’s Operations, Trading & Service organization over the course of 12 years. Before Clifford joined LPL Financial in 1999, she held various roles, including Assistant Vice President of Accounting at Scripps Bank.

Envoy [CHICAGO] announced that Manu S. Sivanandam will be joining the company as its new Chief Operating Officer. Prior to assuming the COO role at Envoy, Sivanandam served as vice president of marketing and strategy at Upright Law and vice president of customer marketing and business operations at Orbitz Worldwide. He was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

RadMax Technologies, Inc. [SPOKANE, Wash.] announced that Michael Urso has accepted the interim position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), and will be transitioning into the role and title of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) later this year. Prior to taking this position, Urso served as the Vice President of Product Innovation for Saint-Gobain’s North American Gypsum business. During his extensive career Mike has also held leadership positions as Senior Principal Consultant, Sirti; Vice President of Marketing, Potlatch Corporation, Wood Products and Resource Management Divisions; Global New Business Development Manager and Global Composite Materials Project Manager, Dow Chemical Company, Emulsion Polymers Division; Operations Manager, Dow Chemical, Chemical and Metals Divisions; North American Marketing Manager, Dow Chemical, Emulsion Polymers Division; and Canadian Marketing Manager, Dow Chemical, Emulsion Polymers Division.

Pfizer Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: PFE) announced that Albert Bourla has been named Chief Operating Officer effective January 1, 2018. Albert Bourla has been the Group President of Pfizer’s Innovative Health Business since the beginning of 2016. Prior to his current position Bourla was the Group President for Pfizer’s Vaccines, Oncology and Consumer Healthcare businesses. Over the course of his career Bourla has held a number of senior global positions across a range of businesses and geographies Bourla was General Manager of the company’s Established Products Business Unit, prior to leading the Established Products business, Bourla was the Area President for Pfizer’s Animal Health business across Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific where he managed the integration of Wyeth’s Animal Health Business (Fort Dodge) with Pfizer in these global markets.

New Jersey Resources (NJR) [WALL, N.J.] (NYSE: NJR) has named Stephen Westhoven executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO). Throughout his nearly three decades at NJR, Westhoven has held key leadership positions and assumed progressive responsibilities culminating in today’s appointment to COO. He began his career in 1990 as an engineer at NJNG. After serving as vice president at NJRES, he was named senior vice president and COO of NJR’s unregulated businesses, NJRES, NJRCEV and NJRHS.

Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. [MINNEAPOLIS] (NASDAQ: DAVE) has appointed its former Chief Development and Franchising Officer, Geovannie Concepcion, as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer.

Piston Group [REDFORD, Mich.] has promoted Amit Singhi to the position of chief operating and financial officer with responsibility for operating and financial matters at all of the Piston Group’s four companies. Before joining the Piston Group as chief financial officer in August 2017, Singhi had held a variety of management positions at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.  Most recently he was CFO at FLIR Systems.

ChikPea [SAN FRANCISCO] welcomed Stephen Deason as our new Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Deason has worked with industry leaders including Oracle, Xerox, Verizon, Sage, and Accenture.

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. [CLEVELAND] (NYSE: CLF) announced that P. Kelly Tompkins, executive vice president & chief operating officer, will retire effective Dec. 31, 2017.

Kala Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [WALTHAM, Mass] (NASDAQ: KALA) announced the appointment of Todd Bazemore as Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Todd is a biopharmaceutical executive with 23 years of experience spanning from ultra-rare orphan diseases to large primary care conditions. Prior to joining Kala Pharmaceuticals, Todd served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Santhera Pharmaceuticals (USA), Inc. since September 2016. Prior to joining Santhera U.S., Todd served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Dyax Corp. Prior to joining Dyax, Todd was at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he served in several roles of increasing responsibility including Vice President, Managed Markets, Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Respiratory Business Unit. He began his career in sales at MURO Pharmaceuticals.

Adams Street Partners [CHICAGO] announced today that James Walker is joining the firm as a Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Walker has more than 30 years of senior executive leadership experience in the wealth management and asset management industries. Before joining Adams Street, he was COO at Credit Suisse Private Bank Americas. Prior to that, Walker spent seven years at Morgan Stanley Global Wealth Management (and predecessor firms), where he served on the management committee and held several roles of increasing responsibility including COO of Investment Strategy and Client Solutions, Director of the Consulting Group, and Director of Product Strategy. Earlier, Walker served as COO – Investment Advisory Services at Citi Global Wealth Management, and then as Director of Strategy, Finance and Risk. He began his career at Merrill Lynch and spent nearly two decades at the firm, rising to Chief Administrative Officer for the Global Private Client business. Walker has served on multiple boards over the years and is a regular lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Business

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Inc. (CSS Entertainment) [COS COB, Conn.] (NASDAQ: CSSE) announced that Elana Sofko has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer. Sofko joined CSS Entertainment in 2016 as senior vice president of business development and distribution. Prior to joining the company, Sofko focused on a range of digital business growth initiatives for World Wrestling Entertainment, including international expansion and localization of WWE’s digital properties. Sofko also supported the launch and international expansion of the WWE Network, a subscription-based video over-the-top (OTT) service. Sofko worked on the launch of satellite radio as part of the start-up team at a predecessor of SiriusXM. She has also overseen strategic growth initiatives at ESPN and A&E Television Networks.

Intercontinental Exchange [ATLANTA & NEW YORK] (NYSE: ICE) announced the promotion of Mark Wassersug, previously ICE’s SVP of Operations, has been named Chief Operating Officer. Wassersug joined ICE in 2001 and was promoted to SVP in 2013. Mark will replace Charles A. Vice who has been named Vice Chairman who was previously President and Chief Operating Officer.

SCI LLC [QUEENSBURY, N.Y.] announced the appointment of Peter Fidopiastis as President and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his new role, Peter will also continue as SCI’s General Counsel. Peter was a litigator in an employment defense firm in California dealing largely with management-side issues. He later extended his practice to NY before joining SCI where he has been General Counsel for 7 years.

AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company [NEW YORK] announced Jeffrey J. Hurd has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective April 2, 2018. Hurd will join both the AXA Equitable and AXA Equitable Holdings Executive Committees. Hurd joins AXA Equitable from American International Group, Inc. (AIG), where he most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Hurd joined AIG in 1998, and served in various leadership positions throughout his nearly 20 years at the company, including AIG deputy general counsel, senior vice president and AIG chief administrative officer, head of asset management restructuring and executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Hurd also served as a member of various enterprise governance committees and subsidiary boards, including the post-IPO board of AIA Group Ltd., a top insurance company in Southeast Asia. Hurd began his career as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in 1993, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, strategic investments and joint ventures. InterGen [BURLINGTON, Mass.] announced that Michael J. Novelli has been appointed chief operating officer. He succeeds Timothy J. Menzie who was named InterGen’s new chief executive officer on December 9. Michael (Mike) Novelli was most recently vice president and general manager of InterGen’s United Kingdom/Netherlands (UK/NL) operating business. Novelli has been with InterGen since 2009. Previously, he was global vice president of operations and engineering for InterGen. Prior to joining InterGen, Novelli served as vice president of operations for International Power in North America and vice president of business development for Marubeni Corporation. Novelli has also held various leadership positions with Texas Independent Energy and Sithe Energies, including plant and general manager roles.

ForeverGreen Worldwide Corporation [LINDON, Utah] announced the appointment of Rick Redford as Chief Operating Officer. Redford most recently served as Chief Sales Officer and in addition to his new responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer will continue his responsibilities over North America and Southeast Asia.

Uniguest [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced the appointment of Matt Goche as chief operating officer. Goche started his career as an Officer in the United States Air Force then worked at Booz Allen Hamilton. Prior to Uniguest, Matt was vice president of Global Security Services at Sungard Availability Services.

Ballentine Partners [WALTHAM, Mass.] welcomed Anja Saloranta as the firm’s first Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Ms. Saloranta was with Redstar Ventures.  Previously, Anja was a Portfolio Manager and the Head of Impact Investing at SCS Financial.  Anja started her career in venture capital and private equity, holding investment professional positions at North Atlantic Capital, Capital Resource Partners and MissionPoint Capital Partners.

PixarBio Corporation [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] (OTC: PXRB) announced that Steve Chartier, VP of Regulatory Affairs has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to joining PixarBio, Steve managed Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and Clinical departments at Biogen IDEC, Infraredx, and Nucryst Pharmaceuticals. He also worked in Program Management and Laboratory Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Debra Mathias

Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC) [LOS ANGELES] named Debra Mathias as chief operating officer. For the past three years, Mathias has served as principal at Mathias Consulting and Research, and Freed Associates. For the prior six years, Mathias served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. She also served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Colorado Children’s Hospital in Denver and administrator of Humana Hospital in Southern California.

DialogTech [CHICAGO] announced the hiring of Doug Kofoid as their Chief Operating Officer. Kofoid joins DialogTech from Publicis Groupe, where he was President, Global Solutions. While at Publicis Groupe, Kofoid led the data and innovation division, VivaKi.

Novus Law LLC [CHICAGO] named Don Versen as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Versen brings a depth of operations management expertise as the former vice president of a Fortune 50 company with experience leading product development, sales, delivery, and engineering. Mr. Versen is also the former Chief Technology Officer of a mid-sized business-to-business communications company. Mr. Versen previously held senior business positions at IBM Global Services, AT&T and Sun Microsystems.

CytRx Corporation [LOS ANGELES] (NASDAQ: CYTR) appointed Daniel Levitt, M.D., Ph.D., the Company’s current Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer. Going forward, Dr. Levitt will continue to serve as CytRx’s Chief Medical Officer, a role he has held in since joining CytRx in 2009.

Scott Hardy

Vivint Smart Home [PROVO, Utah] announced the appointment of Scott Hardy as chief operating officer. Hardy had been serving as senior vice president of inside sales at Vivint for the past two years. Hardy joined Vivint in 2013 as the vice president of business analytics. Before joining Vivint, Hardy was a principal at the Cicero Group, LP. He also spent several years at McKinsey & Company and Monitor Group. Scott has led operating divisions of other companies, including Cisco where he was a director of product management and an early member of the company’s TelePresence cloud business unit. He also spent several years in general management and marketing roles for Tandberg and NCH Partsmaster Europe.

PSEG [NEWARK, N.J.] announced that Bill Levis  informed the company of his intention to retire as president and COO of PSEG Power effective in the third quarter of 2017.  Levis joined PSEG in 2007 after having worked at Exelon in nuclear operations and before that held positions with Ontario Hydro and Carolina Power and Light.  Levis has served on the executive committee of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), on the board of directors of the Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL) and as a member of the Institute of Nuclear Power operators (INPO).
