VASCO Data Security International, Inc. [OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. and ZURICH, Switzerland] (NASDAQ: VDSI) announced that Scott Clements, currently VASCO’s EVP and Chief Strategy Officer, has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Clements will succeed Jan Valcke, who will retire from the company. Before joining VASCO, Mr. Clements spent eleven years at Tyco International where he most recently served as Corporate Senior Vice President, Business Development. Prior to that, Clements served as President of Tyco Retail Solutions and also as Tyco’s Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Tyco, Clements spent a decade at Honeywell International in domestic and international financial and operational leadership roles.
Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) [MAHWAH, N.J.] announced that Mike Marusic has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to joining Sharp in 2002, he headed the marketing group for Panasonic’s copier and computer peripheral division.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation [DALLAS] (NYSE: KMB) announced that Michael D. Hsu, currently group president North American Consumer Products, has been named to the role of president and chief operating officer (COO) and will join K-C’s board of directors, effective January 1, 2017. Hsu joined Kimberly-Clark in November 2012 and currently oversees the company’s North American Personal Care and Consumer Tissue businesses. Prior to joining K-C, Hsu was executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Kraft Foods. Before Kraft, he spent six years at H.J. Heinz, holding the positions of vice president, marketing for Ore-Ida and Frozen Meals, and later as president for Foodservice. He launched his career in the consumer products industry as a consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he rose to partner in the firm’s consumer practice.
Insight Venture Partners [NEW YORK] announced that Ian Sandler has joined the firm as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Insight, Ian was the Chief Operating Officer of Global Equities at Citadel, and was previously a Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer in Carlyle’s Global Market Strategies Division.
Funko [EVERETT, Wash.] announced that Michael McBreen has been named Chief Operating Officer. Mr. McBreen most recently served as Division Senior Vice President of Product Development and Global Sourcing for Payless ShoeSource. Prior to Payless, he was President of Global Operations for Wolverine World Wide, Inc. Prior to that, he was Director of Global Apparel Operations and Strategic Planning at Nike as well as a Director in the Supply Chain Center of Excellence at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Greats Brand Inc. [BROOKLYN, N.Y] announced that Rachael Ulman will join as President and Chief Operating Officer. She has previously held senior roles at Amazon, Walmart Global Ecommerce, and McKinsey & Company.
Robertson Stephens [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that Ron Resnick is joining as Chief Operating Officer of Robertson Stephens Asset Management LLC (“RSAM”), a subsidiary of Robertson Stephens. He is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Resnick co-founded CounselWorks LLC, which was sold to Duff & Phelps. Prior to starting CounselWorks he was a Managing Partner and the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of Highbridge Capital Management. Previously, Mr. Resnick co-founded Harmonic Fund Services, and he was a Partner at Corbin Capital Partners.
Tipalti [SAN MATEO, Calif.] announced the appointment of Manish Vrishaketu as Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Vrishaketu served as President of Americas at GoSwiff and prior to that, he was VP of Business Development and Product Strategy at Fiserv. Before Fiserv, Vrishaketu served as General Manager of CashEdge.
Collective Health [SAN FRANCISCO] announced it has appointed Roy Gilbert as chief operating officer. Directly prior to joining Collective Health, Mr. Gilbert was an executive in residence with venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and also served as chief executive to two education startups, Learnist and Grockit.
Accelera Solutions, Inc. [FAIRFAX, Va.] announced that Steven H. Weiss will be joining Accelera as the President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Weiss served as the Executive Vice President for Government Business Operations at CACI International Inc. for the past 10 years. Prior to joining CACI, Steve served 18 years at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), rising to the level of Senior Vice President.
Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. [BALTIMORE] (NASDAQ: SBGI) announced that effective January 1, 2017, David Amy will move from EVP & Chief Operating Officer to Vice Chairman. Steven Pruett will move from Co-Chief Operating Officer, Sinclair Television Group to EVP & Chief TV Development Officer. Steven Marks from Co-Chief Operating Officer, Sinclair Television Group to EVP & Chief Operating Officer, Sinclair Television Group.
Tesco Corporation [HOUSTON] (NASDAQ: TESO) announced the appointment of John Gatlin as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Gatlin joins Tesco from a position as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Chemeor Inc. and previously served as Chemeor’s President and Chief Executive Officer from April 2014 to April 2016. Earlier, Mr. Gatlin held several management roles with National Oilwell Varco, most recently as President of the Pressure Pumping Equipment division from March 2012 to April 2014 and President of the NOV IntelliServ joint venture between National Oilwell Varco and Schlumberger from June 2009 until March 2012. Previously, he worked with McKinsey & Co.’s Corporate Finance and Strategy practice.
Kali Inc. [SARASOTA, FL] (OTC: KALY) announced the appointment of JR Bott as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Bott joined Kali earlier this year as the CEO and President of Kali’s operating subsidiary, Wave Marina & Yacht Services. Mr. Bott continues in his role as the CEO and President of Wave in addition to assuming the new responsibility of Corporate COO. Prior to joining Wave, Mr. Bott owned and operated a precious metals business. He has also served over 15 years in management with various public utility companies, holding AVP and GM titles.
Emera Inc. [HALIFAX, Nova Scotia] (TSX: EMA) announced Scott Balfour has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Emera Inc. Scott joined Emera in 2012 as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. In 2015, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, Northeast & Caribbean. He also serves as Chair of the Boards for Nova Scotia Power, Emera Energy, Emera Maine, Emera New Brunswick, Emera Utility Services and Grand Bahama Power. Scott will be appointed to the local boards of Tampa Electric and New Mexico Gas in the coming weeks.
