National Life Group [MONTPELIER, VT] announced that Robert Cotton was appointed Chief Operating Officer. Cotton has been with National Life since 1993, when he joined the company as staff auditor. Cotton served for six years as Treasurer and in 2011 was appointed Senior Vice President and CFO. Cotton was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2014. Prior to joining National Life Cotton was an accounting manager at Library Bureau Inc. and was a senior accountant at Coopers & Lybrand.
ProSciento, Inc. [SAN DIEGO, CA] announced the appointment of Brian Mooney to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Mooney joins ProSciento from the CRO Chiltern, a Covance company, where he served as Executive Vice President, Strategic Service Provision. Prior to joining ProSciento, Mooney served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Service Provision at Chiltern, a Covance company. Before that, Mooney was Senior Vice President of Clinical Development and General Manager at Theorem Clinical Research. Prior to his role at Theorem, over a period of 16 years, Mooney held a succession of leadership positions at PRA, including Senior Vice President of Project Services; Vice President of Global Project Management; and Vice President of Countries Group.
OncoCyte Corporation [ALAMEDA, CA] (NYSE American: OCX) announced the appointment of Albert P. Parker, a seasoned industry executive with over 25 years of pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare experience, as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the Company, Parker served as the Managing Shareholder of GC Legal Advisors. Among his prior roles, Parker has served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President & Chief Counsel for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and Partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, L.L.P.
API [WASHINGTON, DC] announced that Amanda Eversole will join API this fall as its Chief Operating Officer. Eversole comes to API from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she serves as Managing Director and Head of Public Affairs. Prior to her time at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Eversole spent 13 years at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Eversole served as President of C_TEC, the Chamber Technology Engagement Center and served as Senior Vice President of the U.S. Chamber Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness. Prior to joining the U.S. Chamber, Eversole worked for RTC Relationship Marketing – a WPP Group company – in business development.
Aspen Technology, Inc. [BEDFORD, MA] (NASDAQ: AZPN) has named Gary Weiss to be Chief Operating Officer, a new position within the company. Weiss joins AspenTech from OpenText, where he held several leadership roles, the last role was as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the OpenText Security, Discovery and Analytics business. Weiss’ prior responsibilities included being SVP of Cloud Services, as well as SVP and GM of its Information Exchange.
Tokio Marine HCC [MOUNT KISCO, NY] announced that Christopher R. Skarinka has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Tokio Marine HCC, Skarinka was a co-founder of Weather Analytics, LLC and served there as President and a member of the Board of Directors. In 2012, Skarinka co-founded and served as Chief Financial Officer of Kanopy Insurance. From 2010 to 2013, Skarinka worked as an Associate for Great Hill Equity Partners.
Smith & Howard [ATLANTA, GA] announced that Dan Smith has been named Chief Operating Officer. Smith joining Smith & Howard in 2016 as Director of Finance. Most recently, Smith served as Operations Manager for a national Registered Investment Advisor.
RiteScreen [ELIZABETHVILLE, PA] announced the promotion of John Keller to the position of Chief Operating Officer as of August 1, 2018. Keller joined RiteScreen in 2014 as the Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain. Before coming to RiteScreen, Keller was VP of Supply Chain at Andersen’s Silver Line business.
ManpowerGroup [MILWAUKEE, WS] (NYSE: MAN) announced that Darryl Green has decided to retire as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective August 31, 2018. Prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in 2014, Green was President, APME and Northern Europe.
Hasa, Inc. [SAUGUS, CA] announced that Christopher (“Chris”) Brink has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Hasa, Brink served as Vice President of the Polyurethane Systems division at Accella Performance Materials, a subsidiary of Carlisle Construction Materials. Brink spent seven years at Henry Company, a building materials manufacturer, in a variety of operational roles, most recently as a Senior Vice President and Business Head. Earlier in his career, Brink held various sales and commercial leadership roles at the Dow Chemical Company and began his career as an applied chemist at the Stepan Company.
Alpine Immune Sciences, Inc. [SEATTLE, WA] (NASDAQ: ALPN) announced the appointment of Mark Litton to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. Litton joins Alpine from Alder BioPharmaceuticals, where he has served as Chief Business Officer and Treasurer since co-founding the company in 2004. Prior to co-founding Alder BioPharmaceuticals, Litton served as Vice President of Business Development at Celltech Group. Litton joined Celltech as part of Chiroscience Group plc and was later named Vice President of Business Development upon Chiroscience’s merger with Celltech in 1999. Earlier, Litton served as Manager of Business Development for Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals Inc. Prior to that, Litton was a research associate at DNAX Research Institute, a research facility of Schering-Plough (now Merck & Co.).
