The Coca-Cola Company [ATLANTA, GA] announced the selection of Brian Smith to serve as president and COO, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Smith joined the company in 1997. His prior roles include serving as president of both the Brazil and Mexico divisions before being named group president for Latin America. He was named to his current position as group president of EMEA in 2016.
United Camps, Conferences and Retreats [PETALUMA, CA] announced that Kent Shelby, most recently of Lake Doniphan Conference & Retreat Center in Excelsior Springs, MO, has been hired as the new Chief Operations Officer. Shelby has held leadership positions (e.g., Associate Camp Director / Maintenance & Grounds Supervisor, Community Center Director, Facility Manager, Aquatics Director, Building Director and Executive Director) at nonprofit camps in Missouri, Ohio and Michigan for over 20 years.
OfferUp [SEATTLE, WA] announced the appointment of Bill Carr as Chief Operating Officer. Carr spent more than 15 years at Amazon leading the company’s digital music and video business including Amazon Music, Prime Music, Amazon Video, Prime Video, and Amazon Studios. After his departure from Amazon in 2014, Carr joined Maveron, LLC as Entrepreneur in Residence.
RJ Young [NASHVILLE, TN] announced AJ Baggott as its new Chief Operations Officer. Baggott previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for RJ Young. Baggott started off serving as the Chief Financial Officer in 2016.,
Laredo Petroleum, Inc. [TULSA, OK] (NYSE: LPI) announced the promotion of T. Karen Chandler to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Chandler joined Laredo in 2012 and has served as Vice President—Operations since 2016. Prior to joining Laredo, Chandler was employed with ExxonMobil for 15 years.
Zoom Telephonics, Inc. [BOSTON, MA] (OTCQB: ZMTP) announced that it has appointed Joseph Lee Wytanis as President and Chief Operating Officer. Wytanis’ start date with Zoom is October 29, 2018. Wytanis held senior level positions with various high tech companies including Nortel, AT&T, Panasonic, Scientific-Atlanta/Cisco, SMC Networks, Flex, and Infosys. At Scientific-Atlanta/Cisco, he was the Cofounder, Vice President and General Manager of the Cable Home Networking Business Unit.
Sustana [MONTREAL, QC] announced that renowned industry expert Kevin Richard has joined Sustana as Chief Operating Officer. Richard spent 20 years of his career at Mohawk Papers, where he served as President and COO. Richard also spent over a decade at International Paper Co. prior to joining Mohawk. Most recently, Richard served as President and COO of Flambeau River Papers.
Attis Industries, Inc. [MILTON, GA] (NASDAQ: ATIS) announced the appointment of Mark Schifani as Chief Operation Officer. Schifani has held numerous positions in the waste industry, including Region Controller, Assistant Corporate Controller and positions in Market Development. Schifani spent most of his career with BFI and Republic Services.
The Performance Review Institute [WARRENDALE, PA] announced the appointment of Michael J. Hayward as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Hayward has extensive experience in the aerospace industry, including manned and autonomous aircraft, satellites, and space launch vehicles. Hayward has worked for major aerospace companies.
Soleo Health [McKINNEY, TX] announced the appointment of Ron Lindahl to the post of chief operating officer. Lindahl joined Soleo Health in May 2016 and was promoted to chief operating officer from the role of vice president of information technology. Previously, Lindahl was chief technology officer at AxelaCare Health Solution. Earlier, Lindahl served as vice president of application development at specialty pharmacy and home infusion provider Accredo Health.
Torex Gold Resources Inc. [TORONTO, ON] (TSX: TXG) announced the appointment of Jody Kuzenko to the role of Chief Operating Officer, effective October 29th, 2018. There will be a transition period with Jason Simpson, until November 9th, 2018, when Simpson leaves the Company for a CEO role within the industry. Kuzenko was most recently the Director, Business Strategy for the Vale Ontario Operations and immediately prior to that she was the Director of Refining Operations.
